Hi all, Welcome to my second post. I just thought, as I have used part of it as the logo picture for my website, that I would place this image in full onto the blog and tell everyone a little bit about it. It's title is "As Time Goes by in the Aroona Valley" and it was one of my first watercolour paintings (it is for sale if any one is interested). The Aroona Valley is a beautiful valley in the Flinders Ranges in the South Australian outback. At certain times of the year after it rains, it is full of wildflowers, usually purple, red and yellow. The ranges themselves vary in colour from purple in the distance but quite red rock up close. This painting was done from a photograph I took through and old and collapsing window in a ruined settler's cottage nestled inside the valley near a natural spring. It was made of the white ant resistant native pine, had no roof, but was still standing after over 150 years. The other image here is one of the flinders - it shows the wild hops flowers (red) in bloom. Anyway, hope you liked the Aroona Valley. Cheers.
